Rita Edochie advises women to leave abusive marriages

Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie had advised women not to remain in toxic relationships as it could damage their mental health.

In a post she made on Instagram, the actress knocked men who bodyshame their partners, stressing that they are the reasons for the women’s body change.

She likened a toxic marriage with modern slavery.

Rita’s post is connected to the claim of internet sensation, Saida Boj who said she is emotionally abused because of her body changes from child birth.

She wrote, “At some point, while seeing this video I was about tearing up but when i quickly realised it’s high time women stood up for themselves, I held back my tears.

“For the second time in six months I am coming out again to advice most women who are captives in form of wives to walk away from a marriage that isn’t working?

“Wait a minute, you mean you brought her out of her father’s house only to come body shame her, calling her a pig. haaaabaaa nooooow

“See eeeh any man who calls his wife names, talking down on her over and over again is nothing but an irresponsible
sp£rm donor

“Like how do you body shame a woman whose body you practically kicked out of shape?

“When you were busy ascending and descending her tower of babel, what were you expecting?

“Women, don’t look back when it comes to walking away from every abusive relationship, if you like remain and perish with a monster, my own na to join say r!p as you no dey hear word simple.” (sic)
