Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has begged the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and its president, Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr. Latin for forgiveness.

Blessing and the group’s leadership have been at loggerheads for a long time, leading to the actress’ suspension by TAMPAN.

The movie star opened up that her dispute with the bigwigs in the industry has cost her a lot, including her emotional stability.

During the recent Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Canada, the actress expressed deep remorse, kneeling as she addressed Mr. Latin and the TAMPAN officials.

She declared her wish to return to the association saying, “I miss the industry”.

The actress begged the association on stage so that Yoruba movie producers can feature her again.

The conflict originated in 2021 when Nkechi, alongside actress Iyabo Ojo, criticized TAMPAN for its perceived leniency towards Baba Ijesha, an actor embroiled in a child abuse controversy.

Nkechi’s public condemnation led to friction with TAMPAN members, including actors Yomi Fabiyi and Lege Maimi.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko responded by announcing a directive barring directors from working with Nkechi and Iyabo, a decision Nkechi openly mocked at the time.
