Take actions against fake miracle centers, IK Ogbonna tells CAN, FG

Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna, has urged the Federal Government and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to punish churches faking miracles to attract members.

The actor, who reacted to the ongoing trend of “I am a Chosen” noted that any pastor who fakes a miracle has betrayed the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In a post he made on Instagram, the movie star, however, cautioned Christians not to participate in social media trends that disrespect their faith.

He wrote, “It is heartbreaking to see pastors faking miracles to deceive and exploit the vulnerable people. These acts stain the true essence of Christianity, turning faith into a spectacle for selfish gain. The consequences? Broken trust, lost lives, and faith manipulated for profit.

“To those pastors, it is time to reflect. Using God’s name for falsehood is a betrayal of the gospel. The victims should remember that their faith is sacred, and true miracles don’t come from deception.

“Let us also be cautious not to get carried away by social media trends that ridicule and disrespect our faith. Christianity should never be used as a tool for views, likes or viral content.

“I call on government and religious bodies like the CAN to step up, regulate, and hold bad actors accountable. Christianity is not fraud, manipulation, or mockery. Let’s stand to protect the integrity of our faith!”
