Actress Motilola Akinlami calls for more support for Nollywood
Popular Nigerian actress, Motilola Akinlami, has called for more support for the country’s movie industry, Nollywood.
The actress noted that investing in the industry would enhance the quality of movies churned out by Nigerian thespians.
She also stressed that the effort and money put into movie production in Nigeria, often, doesn’t pay the actors.
Motilola expressed her determination to bring about positive change within the industry.
“Film crews are the backbone of movie production, yet they are frequently underpaid and undervalued,” she said.
“If I had the power, I would secure more funding to improve their living standards. It’s essential that we acknowledge their hard work and ensure they receive the support they need to thrive. I would like to improve the quality of crew lives especially on this side of the industry, they need to live better. Our crew needs to live better and we need to do better generally.”
