Junior Pope: AGN permits riverine filming, lifts Adanma Luke’s suspension
The suspension on actress Adanma Luke by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has been lifted.
Luke was suspended after the death of popular actor, Junior Pope, who died alongside four crew members after their boat capsized in the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state, while on their way to the movie location on April 10 2024.
But in a recent statement by the National Secretary of AGN, Abubakar Yakubu, the association, who punished Luke for breaching safety protocols, said the suspension has been lifted.
The statement read partly, “The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, uses this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew member lost their lives in Anam river.
“Also, the President lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but cautioned members to apply all safety standards recommended in the AGN Bylaws.”
