Diddy apologises for assaulting ex-girlfriend, Cassie
Following the leak of a video footage, where American rapper, Sean Combs, aka Diddy, was seen assaulting his estranged girlfriend, Cassie, the music executive has tendered an apology.
Recall that a video where the embattled rapper was hitting his former signer in a hotel hallway in 2016 went viral recently.
Diddy was captured repeatedly kicking and throwing objects at his then-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.
The video was met with diverse reactions, with several people calling for his prosecution.
Reacting to this revelation, Diddy acknowledged that his behaviour was below standard and inexcusable. He apologised to the people he hurt.
Speaking in a video message shared via his social media page on Sunday, Diddy said, “My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m so sorry.”
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has said it won’t prosecute Diddy over the assault video, despite public outcry.
According to the attorney’s office, the incident is “beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.”
