Nigerian actress, Ruth Eze has generated mixed reactions on social media after she expressed fear about going into a marriage she knows may ‘end someday’.
This is coming after songwriter JJC Skillz announced separation from his wife and movie star, Funke Akindele after six years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

In an attempt to justify her decision, the thespian said she gave her man his ring because she cannot start something that is bound to end someday.
She wrote, “This thing called marriage is so scary… I just returned my engagement ring. Can’t start something that will end someday”
Reacting to her post, some netizens chastised her for returning her engagement ring and questioned her love for the man she claimed to love.

Another Instagram user identified as @nancydoughlas also wrote: “U gave back ur engagement ring to d man u love bcos of marriages crashing up nd down, it means u dnt love d man, u dnt believe in urself nd u dnt av faith in God. Ruth Eze I just dey vex for u.”
However, some members of the online community encouraged her to take the ring back, saying not all unions are destined to fail, and prayed for the success of her marriage.

Meanwhile, Ruth Eze, in a recent interview with PUNCH said, “It is compulsory for a woman to get married to be fulfilled. The woman has to have kids that will make her complete. I agree with that saying, especially when it is someone that one loves. When one marries someone that one loves, one will feel very fulfilled and happy.”
