Nigerian entertainer, Davido has narrated how he had to elope out of the country in pursuit for cover after he landed in trouble as a result of his involvement in the #EndSARS protest in the country last year.

You would recall that Davido was one of the loud voices and celebrities who was very active during the EndSARS campaign in 2020.

We reported that Davido appealed to some EndSARS protesters who were arrested in the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking to Trevor Noah an in exclusive interview on the Daily Show, monitored. Davido disclosed that he absconded from the country for safety because of his active participation in the protest.

“I got into a lot of trouble. I had to actually leave the country. It was that bad. I was reposting everything that had to do with the campaign. It was amazing to see people come out like that. And I will say this: they listened to us. They heard us. They might not have changed anything but they were shook,” He said.
