Ebizi Eradiri, the first-class graduate of law from the Niger Delta University (NDU) in Bayelsa state, who was recently appointed by Bayelsa governor, Douye Diri as the face of Bayelsa Girl Child, has revealed that while still a student, some lecturers almost ruined her zeal for school when they made unsuccessful attempts to sleep with her.
Ebizi who made this revelation at a homecoming reception held in honour of her achievement, said she once had to call her parents and reported a randy lecturer to the school authorities.
Allaying fears that she may have been dressing seductively to attract attention, Ebizi said she was always conscious of her dressing, making sure she dressed modestly without exposing vital body parts. This, she said got her crowned the best- dressed female student in her faculty in the year she graduated.
She recalled how a lecturer taking her in a borrowed course tried to seduce her. She promptly called home and told her parents about it. She also reported the randy lecturer to her head of department. According to her, the lecturer called and warned.
These she said are some of the challenges she faced as an undergraduate, and would likely face in her new role as face of the Bayelsa Girl Child.
Ebizi said the lowest grade she had during her time in school was a ‘C’. According to her, another lecturer who sexually harassed her gave her the grade. She vowed to remain committed to her goals and pledged to fulfill the duties of her new assignment.
In addition to her ‘ambassadorial’ appointment, she was also offered an automatic appointment at her alma mater’s law faculty and also, a scholarship for master and doctorate degrees by the Bayelsa State governor in any Nigerian university
