Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has announced her conversion to Islam from Christianity. In an already deleted post, the HNN blogger said she has been going to the mosque lately and that’s where she finds peace.

Olunloyo who was released from the Port Harcourt Max prison after a suit with David Ibiyeomie, claimed Christianity “brought” her “turmoil”.

The journalist took to her Facebook page to announce the move, saying that Islam is a religion of peace. She wrote;

I’m converting to #Islam soon. My grandma died at 102yo. She’ll be proud of me. I stayed with her 3 years from 10-13yo cos my school was closer to her house. We prayed 5 times daily instead of once a week with EVIL PEOPLE, celebrated lots of different #Eid and #Ramadan parties.  Islam is where I can find PEACE and it’s the religion of peace. ??.

She also went further to reveal that she has attended a mosque, stating that peace is now with Islam and not Christianity.  She wrote; Now leaving a mosque. The peace I need is with #Islam NO LONGER Christianity.??????Good morning. Pls UNLIKE my page if you have
Islamophobia.

After fans began react to the post on Facebook, she took to her Instagram page to release an official statement and video on the move.
