The year 2017 ended on a peaceful, reconciliatory note for some notable Nigerian celebrities; including the likes of Davido and Wizkid (as they ended their rift and had performances together) and the then Mohits Crew (who also ended their beefs and performed together for the first time since they parted ways at Davido’s concert held at the Eko Convention Centre, few days to the new year. But for some, their drums of war are still sounding loud. These celebrities crossed over into 2018 with their beefs.
One of such cases is that of beautiful actress, Iyabo Ojo and her bosom friend Lara Olukotun, the lady behind the famous Larrit Shoe Village (LSV).
For those who don’t know her, Lara runs a multi-million naira shoe shop in Lekki and she is doing so well for herself. She started up at Dona Mondana building at Salvation bus stop, in Opebi. She recently held an empowerment program for young aspiring business owners .
That Lara is doing well for herself is stating the obvious as she has her own brand-name. She is one of the happening babes rocking the Lagos social circuit.
Until not too long ago, she could easily be described as Iyabo Ojo’s best friend. The new gist however, is that Larrit (as she is fondly called) and Iyabo Ojo are no longer friends. They have not been on talking terms for the past months and those who are very close to them are beginning to get worried. Before their relationship went sour, many in the industry envied their friendship. It would be recalled that during the Iyabo Ojo and Apostle Suleman saga some months back, Larrit took to her her IG page to defend her, issuing stern warnings to people whom she assumed were behind all the stories. When things were rosy between the pair, they were always together in company of 2 other star actresses, Dayo Amusa and Fathia Balogun.
Whenever they were off set and needed to hang out, Larrit’s shop most times was the kick off point as disclosed by a source. They have been seen together as a company at many events. The four of them stormed socialite, Ibrahim Egungboun (Dende)’s daughter’s birthday and Funke Akindele House dedication last year.
The rift between Larrit and Iyabo Ojo became obvious when the latter had the official opening of her lounge and spa in Lekki, few months back. Lara was conspicuously absent at that event despite the heavy presence of her close allies. Few days after the party, while Iyabo was sending out appreciation messages to those who made it to the grand party, as well as those who supported her, Lara’s name did not make the list. While she was doing hers, Lara was busy sending out messages promoting her business.
Some even went further to say that she has been putting up beef statements on her Instagram page which had suggested to most of their mutual friends that something is truly wrong.
Larrit also didn’t attend Iyabo Ojo’s event held at the Lekki Coliseum last year. She has also deleted Iyabo from her contacts list on IG. Most of Iyabo’s pictures of Larrit’s page have also been removed except where she promoted her brand (LSV).
Recall that Monalisa Chinda and Iyabo Ojo did a photo shoot for Larrit sometimes back to promote the LSV brand.
Also when Pasuma had his 50th birthday celebration recently and Iyabo Ojo hosted him at her place in Lekki, Lara was not in attendance.
Gists however have it that she (Larrit) is having a cozy relationship with the talented Fuji artiste.
Also at the grand gig for Pasuma’s 50th which took place at 10 Degrees Event Centre, in Oregun Ikeja, the duo obviously avoided each other.
Larrit was deeply involved in activities at the event. She played the role of a dear friend to Pasuma and she did it perfectly well. She was a good host to her invitees. She had her own caterers and all. She also looked all glam in her outfit.
Lara and Iyabo are both December-born and we didn’t notice them celebrating each other during their birthdays last December. It was even more obvious as Iyabo Ojo clocked in December.
Since their relationship went sour, CityScoop sources revealed that Fathia Balogun is now usually in the company of Iyabo Ojo, infact we heard that her new lounge in Lekki is her base now. Dayo Amusa, our source says, remains indifferent, while what really caused the rift between the two close friends remains a secret between them.
