Africa’s finest humor merchant, Ali Baba has lean his support towards Nollywod actress Remi Surutu who got back to work shortly after she buried her departed daughter Ayo (who died after a protracted battle with sickle cell anemia) on the 6th of July 2017.
The father of Nigerian comedy as Ali Baba say as an entertainer Remi, is simply obeying the entertainment rule that says, “no matter what the show must go on”. He then went ahead to relieve a sacrifice he had to make in other to obey the ultimate showbiz law.

Ali Baba reveals a time, over a decade ago when he was down with chicken pox and had to be hospitalized because he was covered from head to toes with the pox. Meanwhile, he had been paid 500K to perform at a show, the comedian said he called his clients and made them know he was Ill but would have some other top comedians cover up for him.
Sadly, his clients would have none of it. He ended up covering himself with calamine lotion leaving only his face as he went to perform at the show. The idea of a refund was a no-no for him.
“So when I saw Remi Surutu on the set after her daughter’s death, I could relate, the show must go on.” He said

So I met this AWESOME Woman for the first time on the set of @goldstatuemovie , she recently lost her daughter, when she first got on set, it was almost impossible to hold back tears when talking to her and I remember asking our PM @bakkyadeoyeif it was wise to bring her out and he said ‘Judith you don’t know Remi, if Director says Action she will switch’ and each time I see her I loved her and admired her even more, she was almost never there but she still tried to listen and smile with everyone…

The day of shoot finally came and I saw a powerful actor, she was like a different person, she transformed, and I was stunned and I was like WOW!!!!!! And I am so happy Aunty @solasobowale made us bring her out, it was sooooooooooo nice to see her smile, the energy and passion was so amazing!!!!
