Juju gospel singer and rave of the moment, Yinka Ayefele, midweek lost properties worth millions of naira, as burglars broke open his multi-million Naira mega-studio in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The burglars, who performed the operation in broad daylight, reportedly whistled away with huge but unconfirmed sums of money and many valuables comprising musical instruments and studio equipment.
The studio is situated along Challenge-Ibadan-Lagos Expressway Toll Gate in Ibadan.
Two rooms in the office including that of Ayefele and his finance manager were thoroughly ransacked and looted during the operation.
The burglars, it was gathered, gained entry into the premises through the ceiling after the workers had closed for work that day.
The two security men on duty claimed ignorance of traces of any person, even as the robbery was said to have taken place between the hours of 5pm and 7pm.
Ayefele was away in London when the incident occurred.
https://www.nigeriafilms.com gathered that he was on the verge of cutting short the visit owing to the unfortunate development.
He was reportedly shocked and totally devastated when the sad news was relayed to him on phone.
The manner of the operation, one of the workers insisted, must be the handiwork of some insiders who are very much familiar with the building, structured with pre-emptive security measures.
The two security men on duty have since been arrested and are currently being interrogated at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Iyaganku Police Station, Ibadan.
When https://www.nigeriafilms.com visited the office, all the over 15 staff members of the company were making arrangements to submit themselves to the Police authorities who had also invited them for questioning.
The Office Secretary, simply identified as Funmi, decried the unfortunate incident, which she said caught them unawares and expressed surprise that it took place while their ‘Master’ had been away to London for two weeks.
On the actual loss recorded, she said ”I cannot quantify the exact loss; all I know is that the finance manager’s office and that of Ayefele himself were affected with the two left scattered, “she managed to tell our correspondent.
A Police Officer from the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Iyaganku, Ibadan who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the story and disclosed that some workers have already been arrested.
It will be recalled that the ultra-modern office complex was commissioned on May 2, 2009 by the governor of Osun State, Prince
Olagunsoye Oyinlola, at a very colourful ceremony attended by crème-de-la-crème of the society.
The commissioning also coincided with the wedding ceremony of Ayefele’s younger brother.
