That a lot of controversies have been trailing the Yoruba movie industry over the death/burial of a beautiful Yoruba Actress, Moji Olaiya may not be new again, as burial committee and those concerns in the matter have been writing in parable an opened letters to themselves on social media.
Below is the latest Kayode Salako, Foluke Daramola’s husband wrote this morning.
” The best way to celebrate the dead and preserve its values is to lay his remains in a befitting and proper way and put his memories and history in the place where her family and friends can always go to relate, associate or interact with it…” – Olukayode Salako.

“I am happy the so called ‘noise’ they say we built around Moji Olaiya’s death has paid off afterall. It has been able to attract the attention of all and sundry to the course of her funneral. Now, it is bringing her remains home for good and befitting burial, deserving of an entertainment icon which she was in her life time. She was a prominent Nigerian who’s memory and history do not deserve to be thrown or buried away in a foreign land. That strong advocacy we initiated for her has brought her death good tidings. A lot of eminent Nigerians heard about it; got attracted to it and are contributing well to give it all the necessary attention it deserves for proper burial rites. I am happy Moji has become more popular and prominent in death. This is what we want for her memories.The federal government, through the minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, even wrote officially to sympathize and condole with the family.This is the good will we intend to build around this very, very unfortunate reality.

Now, Moji is coming back home to be laid to rest where she belonged. If we did not come in to intervene or push for it, it is possible she may have been buried in Canada. This is what I am sure of. Her remains might not come back home. Our intervention has paid off and we are happy it has achieved the set purpose.
The funeral is getting more and more attention and support of several of her fans and well meaning Nigerians in good will, cash and material supports more than we even bargained for. I love Moji when she was alive and I love her even more in death!
She was one of us and she was a prominent member of our social and political advocacy projects.
We shall continue to mourn and miss her a lot! I am happy Moji is going to be buried at home. I am satisfied she is going to be laid to rest where her children, family, friends and industry colleagues can always relate and interact with her memories and histories.
