Rapper turned business man, Ruggedman, has weighed in on the legal imbroglio in which self-styled snitchlady, Kemi Olunloyo has found herself after her reprieve for a bail application which took over two tries to sail through was truncated by the ruling of a higher court yesterday.
Ruggedman has now questioned the rationale behind the case, wondering aloud whether the continued incarceration of the journalist does not impugn on the love and forgiveness message which the church preaches.
Hear him:
SO PASTORS CAN NOT FORGIVE THOSE WHO OFFEND THEM?
WHAT WILL YOU PREACH FROM THE PULPIT ON SUNDAY? HOW DO YOU FACE YOUR CONGREGATION KNOWING SOMEONE IS BEHIND BARS BECAUSE OF YOU? I GUESS PREACHING FORGIVENESS, LOVE AND PEACE IS OFF THE TABLE.
FROM NORMAL PEOPLE IT’S UNDERSTANDABLE, BUT A MAN OF GOD SHOULD KNOW HIS POSITION IS SENSITIVE AND WILL SEND A MESSAGE LOUDER AND CLEARER. SHE IS WRONG, WHAT SHE DID IS BAD. BUT IMAGINE IF YOU GET THE POLICE TO MAKE HER APOLOGISE, TAKE DOWN THE POST AND SIGN AN UNDERTAKING TO DESIST FROM SUCH ACTS. THEN YOU PRAY FOR HER AND ASK GOD TO FORGIVE HER. THAT WOULD BE ?% POINTS FOR PASTOR. BUT….
WHAT A SHAME!
I know she over does it, but you are a man of God. What example are you setting?
@Regrann from @woskethoughts – So Pastors are the new aristocracy. They’ve ignored ALL the corruption cases in court. It’s journalists and bloggers they’re locking up now??
It doesn’t matter how hated she is, this is bullshit
This is definitely a new dimension to public perception of this case. But what may not be clear to Ruggedman or many is the possibility of the case now becoming a criminal one between the state and Kemi. Of course, Pastor David Ibiyeomie can write to withdraw the case, but what if the state is bent on pursuing it to a logical conclusion and setting a precedent. This is certainly a point to consider in castigating the Man of God. Still, Ruggedy Baba may have a point.
What do you think? Do you share Ruggedman’s view?
