A 23-year-old male, Murtala Ibrahim of Tashar Gagare Quarters in Katsina metropolis has committed suicide.
We gathered that the young man hung himself yesterday at his family home behind Mamman Charanchi’s Garage at Tashar Gagare, Katsina, Katsina State.
Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident reports that the victim was said to have committed suicide over lack of unemployment.
The deceased in a suicide note found on him wrote that he was frustrated over his inability to get employment which had stretched for too long.
His father, Malam Ibrahim told our correspondent that Murtala had been stubborn right from childhood. He said the deceased who had been away for about six years suddenly returned home two days into the month of Ramadan.
Mallam Ibrahim explained that he did all he could to change his son’s attitude to life including enrolling him in multiple Qur’anic schools.
The body of the late Murtala has been removed by the police and taken to the morgue at the Katsina General Hospital.
