This is not the best of time for Yoruba actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, who is worried that she has not raised enough money to pay the medical bill of her adopted sister, Esther, who is down with cancer.

Months ago, the buxom actress had appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid in raising the N7m required for Esther to travel to India for surgery. Oshodi-Oke told Life and Beat that what they had now, which is about half of the required sum, would not be enough to cater for the trip and other expenses.

“A lot of people have promised to help us, but so far, we have not heard from them. We’re just praying that God will touch their hearts so that they can redeem their promises,” she says.

Oshodi-Oke says she would have taken care of the bills if she had more than she had already given.

“I have already brought N1m. I can’t afford more than this. I would have given her if I had. The money required is huge. She is my sister and I don’t want anything to happen to her. I just pray we’re able to raise the funds so that she can travel soon,” she says.
