Honorable Tony One-Week (Nollywood Actor and Musician)

It is a shame that in year 2012, we still experience what happened to these Uniport students that were illegally murdered based on allegation. A man is deemed innocent until he is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. I solidly stand with other concerned Nigerians to condemn this action in totality. This is barbaric jungle justice. Government must stand up to its job of securing life and property. Too bad.

Yemi Blaq (Nollywood Actor)

I think it is absolute barbarian: And anyone who kills in the name of any course is a murderer. My heart is broken.

Jim Iyke (Nollywood Actor)

Someone needs to remind me again we are in a democratic society. We act like these reprehensible acts of senseless waste of precious lives is in a civil war. Our sweep-it-under-the-carpet and move on syndrome is taking us at an unprecedented height. We need to rise up as an entity and decry this evil in our security system or it will take us all under in the wake of its tide. I’m not a doomsday messenger but it’s easy to see where this propensity is leading us.

Okey Bakassi (Nollywood Actor/Comedian)

What we are experiencing today in Nigeria as exemplified by the Uniport killings is a demonstration of the collapse of the entity called Nigeria. It’s a failure of leadership at all levels: Executive, Judicial, Legislative, Religious, Cultural, etc., people are slow to love and quick to hate. The world is becoming more sophisticated in the act of wickedness. Where were the police all through the ordeal of those boys? In this GSM era…all those who supervised the barbaric killings of those young boys probably claim to know God. Shame on us all.

Jennifer Eliogu (Nollywood Actress)

Justice must take its course.

Grace Amah (Nollywood Actress)

The incident was traumatizing, horrendous, barbaric, despicable, geeky and simply wicked to have taken place at this level of development of the human race. If nothing is done to stop this high level of barbarism in our land, it will add to the image challenges Nigeria is facing and puts a question mark on the leadership of the University authorities in Nigeria. We have laws, why wouldn’t the laws be applied where students infringe on them in matters as ordinary as stealing phones and laptops at a time our national source of economic growth-the oil is being stolen daily and the toil thieves are celebrated. Nigerians are waiting to get an answer from the authorities of the University of Port Harcourt and Jonathan government as to why such future in those young men will be wasted for nothing.

Junior Pope (Nollywood Actor)

It’s absolutely barbaric, whichever way you want to look at it. It’s horrible in the sight of God and man. I condemn it with my last breath, even if they were caught with guns. Why do we have the police and the law? It is inhumanity to man .No one, I repeat, no one deserves such and those who did this should be behind bars. May their souls rest in peace!

Click for Full Image Size

Lawrence Lurrenz Onuzulike (Nollywood Actor/Author)

I think it’s barbaric. It makes me wonder if Nigerians still believe in God. In what part of the Bible did God say we should kill people–even if they stole phones? And what made it more painful is that I’m here in Germany giving speeches, trying to convince Nigerians here that it’s time to move back home and join in the development of the country and GBAM! This exploded. I’m short of words

Mr. Kool (Nigerian Musician)

There have been some controversies about the incident and the actual offence of the killed students. But I think one point is clear, mob action or jungle justice is totally unacceptable. The killing was barbaric, the victims had the right to life, the right to defend themselves and be punished under the law if found guilty of any crime. The authorities should bring the perpetrators to book. It is really unfortunate.

Click for Full Image Size

Emeka Duru

I’ve seen the video. I didn’t know they were students, so bad. I understand they stole laptop and phone. This is barbaric dear I would have said yes to the killings if they had guns and had killed someone but just for laptop and phone? That’s bad. Not that I support stealing but they should have taken them to the police station.

Charles Abazie (Nollywood Actor)

The killing of the Uniport students was sadistic and inhumane. The village people in Port Harcourt should have handed them to the proper authorities. The people involved should be brought to book and properly prosecuted. We have laws in Nigeria and nobody is above the law

I am sure by now some of you have watched the video of the brutal killings of the four University of Port Harcourt students – Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven’t watched the video, please don’t bother. It’s the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart!

Now I’m convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this! People’s children! Beaten till they were unconscious, and then set on fire. They said they were robbers…were they? Really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this Barbaric in this country?

We’re all still in shock. Please use the comment form below to voice your own message, we assure you that important people are reading and taking notes.

Kelly Akara (Nollywood Actor)

It’s a very sad thing. Why did the people of that community take laws into their hands? No matter what they did, at least we have police stations where they can take them, rather than taking their lives. I watched the video, omg! I stand to condemn the barbaric act. I totally condemn what the vigilante group or whatever they call themselves did. So the state government should step in. Yea!

Sylvanus Madu (Nigeria Actor)

It’s Barbaric and foolishness of the highest order. No human has the right to take another man’s life, not even with the law. That’s why some countries change their laws not to sentence to death but life in prison. I disagree with jungle justice, real madness. And to think that people were there watching and recording it with their phones shows the heartlessness and wickedness of the people in that area. Abi dem think say na home video abi stage play? It’s terrible how callous some Nigerians can be.

Patience Johnson (Nigerian Author)

I feel sad. This is very wrong. Why are heart of men so wicked?

Chigozie Atuanya (Nollywood Actor)

I’m not happy about the fools that killed those boys but God will see them.

Charles Abazie (Nollywood Actor)

The killing of the Uniport students was sadistic and inhumane. The village people in Port Harcourt should have handed them to the proper authorities. The people involved should be brought to book and properly prosecuted. We have laws in Nigeria and nobody is above the law.

Don Saint (Nigeria Musician)

This is the worst act I have ever seen in my whole life.

B’ Sala (Nigeria Musician)

I will advise people not to take laws into their hands. Everyone has the right to prove himself before the court of law. We are civilized people and we should respect the law. Those guys could have been accused falsely or could truly be guilty but they should have been handed over to the police for further investigation. We operate democracy and we should respect that. I am not in support of crime but I strongly object to people taking laws into their hands, and parents should train their children not to try to get what their parents cannot afford to give them through crimes.

L Chronicle (Nigeria Musician)

I think that act by the people that killed these students is an act of wickedness and it reminds us of the insecurity level in our country Nigeria. I mean where were those that were supposed to guard lives and protect properties? They were supposed to get to the scene before the jungle justice was carried out. Anyways, I think the real truth behind the story is not yet disclosed. This is my own opinion

Shame on you Nigeria.....this again, demonstrates the failure of the security system in Nigeria to protect the citizenry, allowing unscrupulous people to take laws into their hands. Tell me, who has right to destroy precious life especially in such gruesome, barbaric manner. Aluu community has brought curse upon themselves by this dastardly act. There are not enough policemen to effectively police every nooks & cranies of this country. Fg should justify the money they have been paying to CIVIL DEFENCE whose duties are defined, by integrating them into the police to boost the police's population, Fg should also check a situation whereby some individual are using up to a unit of policemen in their houses/offices in the name of VIPs while other citizens are left at the mercy of criminals. Fg should also look improve the police welfare to reduce the heavy influence of the rich over the police, police services should be for all, not only the rich ppl.

He was to the first to kill them , THEIR DEBTOR MUST NOT GO SCOTT FREE. E diat , the boys borrowed him money an all he could repay them is this wickedness. Those mothers present there when the boys were being roasted alive are disgrace to motherhood. They stood there, bear it , watched another mothers children murdered. No pasiion , no feeling. None of the women or the ELDERs present pleadead on behalf of the boys or beg them to JUST STOP while they ask question and inform the police. What if their children or relative. They all stood there and watched it true. so so hearltess

The children's heart must be so hardened to stay and watched those brutal killing .Most of them are going to have nightmares. I could not bring myself to watch the vidoe clips. Aluu is going to end with generation of heartless children and evil mothers. They will live to remember it for the rest of their lives , their conscience will continue to judge them. Their men are too evil and am sure they are the armed robbers invading their own land.

They call it BARBARIC but I can hardly find a word to qualify this DEVIL-INVASION.
The only thing I could find is a question of 'were we are heading' :
what is the level of our security ?
What is the level of our love for oneanother ? Why are we heartless ?
Why is there inhumanity in the human race ?
What is our vision and our mission ?
Why this injustice ?
Can we ever change ?
These are questions we should ask ourselves, but a question that I need an answer to is were the so called security opprectives were at the time of this incident or do they think that their work is d #20 thing, d government & d school authority have to do something, this should never repeat itself.
Those murderers are nobetter than those they killed, and should be brought to book and penalised accordingly to be a lesson for other such minded animals

I thought the September 11 Twin Towers bombing in New York was the depth of man's inhumanity to man; but the brutal torture and killings of these 4 innocent babies is just too much to comprehend! And who was that professional imbecile that stood there recording this act of inhumanity and then posted it online for the world to see? God have mercy on this land!!! "Nigeria, we hail you!!!" Emeka Duru is a f**l. Guess you saw them stealing. Local actor! No young man who is an indigene of that cursed Aluu community within the ages of Tekena, Chiadika, Lloyd, and the fourth angel will ever be useful. They shall all die in their prime. To any one that participated in the killing, fruitfulness will never be ur portion. Aluu angels will never rest in their painful and lonely graves until Aluu is ruined.

Please God, the pain is unbearable. I am lost without words to say... Thy will be done, dear Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. May Your Dear Souls RIP Angels

brutal killing
carine jones | 10/11/2012 10:49:40 AM
I regrete watching this video, this is too much for my poor heart and soul. I can't stop crying and my whole body is shaking, burnt alife, Jesus, what have we become?
- How come nobody or group of people intervened to save these kids from this mob action?
-Is there more to this than we know already?
-Are they really thieves? If yes, are you entitled to take away 4lives because of labtops and phones?
-Were they really armed as we have been told?
-Where was the police ?

This is the peak of any barbaric action i can imagine. Please we need answers to the soo many qusetions we all have been asking.
Is there more to this than the eye can see? I want to believe the chief of this area had enough proves beyond reasonable doubt to allow this to happen, if not ..............................Again i thought the boys looked too calm for my liking, why didn't they scream, begging for the crowd to give them a listening ear ? Had they done so to no avail? I know people have been killed innocently, but again i know if all 4 of them had given a similar story that did not incriminate them in anyway ,somebody somehow would have stopped this from happening. How comes they all gave different stories? How come though innocent they could not convince the chief to set them free or take them to the police? Is there something we are missing? Jesus, i can't stop asking myself these questions.

Whatever the case, nothing will be able to justify this evil act.
Is it true they confessed of killing a father before, and raping one girl? Were they wolves in sheep clothings? Such cuties, what were you up to that night? Did they really carry weapons with them?

I'm soo scared, scared because maybe they were killed for nothing, yes nothing. Just because somebody shouted 'thief', they were condemed.
By the way were they chased before caught? I know if they had nothing to hide they wouldn't have been running while chased. Why go to a debtor's house that late at night? I'm i just confused, too curious or bitter inside?

We all know what a mob action can do, and most of us have been witnessed or mayb part of it even, there's no stoping when it begins and if you try plea for the offenders you might as well find yourself recieving snake beatings too. It's easy for us to say somebody shld ve stopped this, but we all know only the law enforcement cld ve done anything to mk a change. Let's hope this serves as a lesson to all, as we learn not to put our selves in compromising situations.

I don't even want to imagine what their parents are going through now, but may God give them strenght to face this calamity that has befallen them. Sooo sad.

Please we need anwers, please we need to know what happened that day? Let the chief and co speak up, let the victim speak up.

May their souls rest in perfect peace, go to rest my brothers, u will never know pain again. God forgive us all.

THIS HORRIBLE ACT OF LAWLESSNESS AND INSTANCE MOB JUSTICE CAN ONLY HAPPEN IN NIGERIA. IT SHOWS THE WORLD THAT DESPITE THEIR OIL WEALTH, SOME NIGERIAN VILLAGES STILL LEAVES IN PRIMITIVE AND CRUDE IDEOLOGICAL AGES. IT BEATS MY IMAGINATION BEYOND HUMAN REASON THAT A RIGHT THINKING CIVILISED HUMAN COULD DO THIS TO FELLOW HUMAN BEING WITHOUT AN IOTA OF PITY. DO SOME NIGERIANS HAVE RESPECT FOR HUMAN BEINGS? THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN IN MY COUNTRY GHANA! EVERYDAY YOU HEAR NIGERIANS CALLING GHANAIANS NAMES BUT AT LEAST GHANAIAN WOULD NOT DO THIS TO A FELLOW HUMAN BEING JUST FOR A MERE MOBILE OR LAPTOP.

Where are d police, where are d community leaders, what is Govenor Rotimi doing on dis matter,we want to hear them. On dis matter, one thing people should take note is that bible says in Galatians 6:7. Aluu killings
Busornma | 10/12/2012 9:01:08 PM
Those boys were too calm to be thieves nor cult members .... Cause if they were, they would have put up a fight or made an attempt to at least run. It was not wrong to go to draw debt at whatever time if all option of getting the money had failed....
They looked more like ajebos who are smart but not street smart... Like is where I have thought by kiss to be street smart......
The wicked will never go unpunished no matter how grievous their crime was if they was any, they were killed in the most inhumane way. It still beats me how people could be that nefarious .... May we never experience this again in our land and me the souls of those boys avenge their death...... And may god grant their families the strength to bear this horrific loss!!!!

The lynching of the Uniport boys shows brutality to the highest level in today's civilized society. I've been haunted by the sheer dehumanization, brutality and barbarisms of some sects of disillusioned Nigerians. I have cried for days anytime I get a flashback of the videoclips and wished I never saw it. I have a younger brother in University in Nigeria and it really unnerves me that such mindless cruelty and killings could happen to anyone. Lets face it, how many times have you heard or seen a similar mob attack in the market or at a mechanics garage because someone was caught stealing? We all have a role to play when we see others stepping out of line and violating human lives; just as those spectators that included women and mothers stood and watched young boys be killed and turned it into gist. Absolutely dispicable and disgusting... The bloods of the boys are on hands of everyone that lifted a stick, iron rod, stone, brick and including those that participated by remaining silent and watching in bemusement. Absolutely, I agree with you Damsel even the police officers are thieves and to hear that a couple of police officers were present when it happened and gave a rather flizzy response saying the crowd overwhelmed them and they had no guns… Imagine, this just highlights Nigeria as a failed state to some extent in some parts. We are all waiting to see the outcome of the perpetrators that have been charged with their killings. No more sweeping dirt under the carpet again in Nigeria; we've had enough.

MY HEART BLEEDS
Seeker Murphy | 10/17/2012 9:12:22 AM
There have been some controversies about the incident and the actual offence of the killed students. But I think one point is clear, mob action or jungle justice is totally unacceptable. The killing was barbaric, the victims had the right to life, the right to defend themselves and be punished under the law if found guilty of any crime. The authorities should bring the perpetrators to book. It is really unfortunate.

I couldn't imigane any intelligent, fair minded person voting for this appalling government again. It's the same right across the nation where wall to wall Labor governments have economically ruined almost every state and territory. I suppose South Australia is not as bad as QLD or NSW but it's certainly not far behind. I think it's time for the workers to evaluate a political party on a broad spectrum of issues instead of being so tunnel visioned on unions and the workplace, speaking of which, Labor has not done such a great job on this anyway. They always claim to be batting for the worker but when you actually look at the policies, the worker just may be better off under a Liberal government in many instances. It's difficult to change the conditioned mind though when this mentality has been passed down through generations. My dad voted Labor, and his dad voted Labor and my great great grandfather voted Labor so I'll vote Labor too because I'm too s****d to think for myself.
