The sensational singer, Yinka Ayefele got a rude shocker yesterday morning when he learnt that his N200m building will be pulled down by the Oyo State Government.
According to his publicist, Ayefele was not given any prior notice about the demolition and he was shocked to hear about it this yesterday morning.
The ibadan based singer, Ayefele went ahead to church and later went to perform at an event as if nothing happened but many people have continued to criticize Gov Ajimobi for his demolition policies.
His publicist writes, "This N200million edifice has in its belly, two magnificent halls, an internet radio station, a standard studio and several offices. It also provides job for about 100 people and that places it among top employers of labor in Oyo State. This is Yinka Ayefele Music House that has being marked for demolition by Oyo State government.
From the government quarters, "The government wants to expand the road to an 8-lane road being proposed by the state government. The road and the house will be affected and there is nothing anybody can do about it."

joey | 10/10/2012 12:37:24 AMI', of the opinion that we have to address the subject matter properly. I believe, we need to ascertain the location of His building in the first place. Besides, if the property is on the high road, i might support the idea of demolition, but if it falls within the city or town centre, I see no justification for 8 lanes. If there was adequate planning by the Govt, the building plan shouldn't have been approved at first.
In my view, there are lots of developmental projects that when executed will benefits vast majority of masses that are not considered appropriate. I think our Govt don't get their priorities right or the projects are done without the interest of the masses in mind.
In most of developed nations, you can only find such a proposed road on their highways and not in any city or town like Lagos, Ibadan etc.
Lastly, lets be polite in addressing issues online as we are different and issues will be commented from different angles. Nigeria We Hail Thy!

Wisd | 10/10/2012 2:03:32 PMDevelopment is different from destruction. Road expansion could be done in such a way that will not impoverish people or make them jobless. Why not expand or divert to less expensive and less developed side of the road. If compensation is paid, no problem. If Nigeria government demolish a house, its likely it is the grand, grand, grand children's children that will receive the compensation!!1

Reason is that imagine a world without meaning, no job, lack of employment, full of graduates. So why must government try to demolish #200m company of ayefele' try to rethink of it bcos of 100 employee that is going to be wasted. What is the next solution

Stoica | 11/27/2012 7:17:30 AMBy :By :By :By :there doesn't have to be a day of reckoning. you can just have an ecoonmy that grows at a slower rate than would be w/o deficits or stimulus. there are deficits around the world because of a massive financial crisis. budget deficits need to be brought under control but long term what needs to happen is that the national debt needs to stabilize. it doesn't need to go away. There doesn't have to be a day of reckoning but there will be if nothing is done with the current deficit levels and debt. We're around .9 debt/gdp ratio this year, and perhaps .8 or so after a recovery. That's a bad place to be either way. Healtcare makes things worse. Fighting multiple wars makes things worse. Government needs to cut spending AND raise taxes and I'm not convinced the political will exists to do it. The US, with its strong ecoonmy can do some tricks inflation of the dollar transfers some of the burden to our creditors (causing us to lose some creditors). We're still the safe heaven investment choice when things go bad. We can artificially keep rates down longer. But we're slowly but surely blowing our reputation as being a country with a sound and conservative financial system (that we built up during the last century). There's no free lunch.the US 30 year is near 5%. there are no worries about the US. interest rates plunged during the crisis. some short-term debt briefly went negative. the market is not worried about the US paying anyone back. of course we can't run huge deficits.Yeah, agree that for now we're ok and there's no immediate panic. Though, arguably, part of the reason rates are so low is because of manipulation by the Fed (or indirect manipulation by debt swaps with other central banks). But once you have debt/GDP > 1, things start to get challenging, and we may fall into a debt trap where servicing costs become too high to make a significant dent in the debt.our servicing costs are lower than they were in the 1990s. people have been saying that interest rates are going to skyrocket. they've been saying it for years. I've thought that for years. look up RRPIX or RYJUX and see how good that has gone for people. I never thought we'd run a 9% deficit and bonds would be so quiet. clearly there is something going on that I and many other people can't comprehend. just look at japan for an example. until interest rates go higher I'll put myself down as someone who doesn't understand the bond market. I don't have to waste time making excuses that way!

EBONY | 2/18/2013 6:43:44 AMIF AND ONLY IF THE CONCERNED GOVERNMENT WILL IMPLEMENT PLAN OF SO CALLED OYO STATE EFFICIENTLY... I HOPE THIS IS NOT ANOTHER PROJECT THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE SCHEDULED FOR 3 YRS AND WILL END UP TO BE INFINITY PROJECT. THE ISSUE IS NOT TO GIVE A DEMOTION ORDER ON SOMEONE'S PROPERTY, BUT THE ISSUE IS AFTER THIS DEMOLITION, WILL THE PROPOSED ROAD BE BUILD ON INTERNATIONAL STANDARD OR HE ONLY WANT A LONG TERM PROJECT TO ENABLE HIM TO POCKET SOME MONEY, JUST THE WAY HE POCKETED 15 MILLION NAIRA ERRONEOUSLY CREDITED TO HIS ACCOUNT.... IF HE HAS A GENIUE PLAN CONCERNING THE ROAD, WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS WIFE'S INVOLVEMENT IN FINANCIAL CRIME IN UK, LIKE I HAVE SAID, THE QUESTION IS NOT THE DEMOLITION OF THE HOUSE, BUT ARE WE SURE IT IS NOT ANOTHER POLITICAL AND EMBEZZLEMENT POLICIES FROM POLITICIANS,... A LONG TERM PROJECT BRINGS MORE MONEY TO POLITICIANS..BUT TO THE MASSES, WE CALL IT DEVELOPMENT, DEVELOPMENT INDEED WITH QUAKE ROAD NETWORK.... IF NIGERIA MUST DEVELOP, WE MUST START OUR DEVELOPMENT FROM PROVISION OF ADQUATE ELECTRICITY.
WHEN GOD WANT TO CREATE HEAVEN AND EARTH, AFTER GOD CREATED HEAVEN AND EARTH THE BIBLE SAY THE EARTH WAS VOID WITHOUT FORM, AND GOD SAYS LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT, WHY DIDN'T GOD CREATE ROAD FIRST, WHY THE LIGHT FIRST...? ELECTRICITY AIDS DEVELOPMENT MORE THAN THE GOOD ROAD NETWORK... A GOOD ROAD NETWORK MINUS ELECTRICITY IS EQUAL ACCIDENTS... LET ALL GOVERNORS FROM THE 36 STATE HOLD A MEETING AND HAVE A THOROUGH DISCUSSION ABOUT PROVIDING ELECTRICITY..BEFORE GOD CREATE ANIMALS AND DIFFERENT EAVES THAT WE CALLED FLOWERS TODAY, HE CREATED LIGHT FIRST.... FIRST THING FIRST THEN OTHER THINGS FOLLOWS...
AS LONG AS I AM CONCERNED, THERE IS NO GENIUE POLITICIAN IN NIGERIA, THERE IS A DIFFERENT BETWEEN POLITICS AND NIGERIAN POLITICS.
