In a very competitive industry called Nollywood, getting new replacements for the A-listers seem to be a tough battle. In the case of Nigeria, not that there are no talents to take over from the old ones, but the politics and intrigues involved in doing so are very tasking.
For a former Next Movie Star contestant, which has produced the likes of Tonto Dikeh, Annie Macaulay and others, Belinda Effiah is not minding the herculean task ahead of her in breaking into the mainstream.
Little wonder she is gradually becoming a big force to reckon with in Nollywood. After starring in 'Kokoma' and other movies, Belinda is making her six years experience in the game come to play.
According to her,
"I shot a movie called 'Mama Africa' where I played a supporting role with Tonto Dikeh and Chigozie in a movie produced by Mr Norbert Ajaegbu.
"Since 'Kokoma' got released into the market, I have been nominated for best new actress at the Golden Icon Academy Award and BON awards for most promising actress. I also got a recognition award from Akwa Ibom Youth Convention.
"I now get calls from notable movie producers who want me on their movie sets. I am excited about it, but I am keeping calm and focused. This is my key."

Runa | 10/23/2012 7:59:30 AMDee; you went to a copper mine and didn't even tell me about it? You'd bteter take us there when we arrive in Payson!Love the name ( Royal Flush was there an old commode on the mine dump?)PeteOn a serious note, my heart was on my sleeve too, Tom, when you played the extended clip. October Baby is open in two theaters here in Pensacola. I hope we get to see it before my surgery; based on how badly the movie is being treated by the lamestream media, I doubt it will survive in the theater until my recovery is progressed enough.
