It's one thing to encourage members to intermarry within their church so that they can strengthen and increase their congregation, but emphasizing that they shouldn't marry outside their church is a bit off/strange. Does intermarrying within one's church (or place of worship) guarantee happiness, Godliness and success in the marriage? Of course NOT! It's neither a crime nor a sin to marry outside one's worship place...this is a church after all, not a cult, so members shouldn't be bound to marry each other just to please others. A lot of times, it's imposing & futile advises & mandates in worship centers (like this one) that drives people away from the church. It's NOT a preacher, rabbi, imam, pastor or anyone else's place in life to decide where one should marry from. Anyone who believes in God should ask God to direct his/her path in everything they do because you can meet your spouse at work, grocery store, house of worship & so on. Have a good day folks! The New Testament is replete with expressions of this reality. The singularity of the 'BODY OF CHRIST' is more than evident in Paul's writings: Romans 12:4-5 "For just as we HAVE MANY MEMBERS in ONE BODY and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." 1 Corinthians 10:17 "Since there is ONE BREAD, we who are many are ONE BODY; for we all partake of the ONE BREAD." Not many would disagree that there is only one way to become a member of the church of Jesus Christ. Membership in Christ's church is not based on your heritage, age, intelligence, knowledge of the Bible, local assembly attendance, keeping the 10 commandments, prayer, or any other work or attribute that can be attributed to one's self. Membership in Christ church is solely contingent upon God's sovereign choice in election (Rom 9), evidenced through the gift of faith (Eph. 2:8-9) that has been united with the message of the gospel (Eph 1:13-14). In other words, salvation. So, from a biblical perspective, there is only one body, or one church. And its membership is comprised of all those who have entered the kingdom of God through 'the door', who is Jesus Christ, by faith. All those around the world, who have placed their faith in Christ are members of the one church. The church is the people. The people are the church. This can be seen in these verses that refer to this one church: Colossians 1:18 "He is also head of the body, THE CHURCH [singular]; and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; so that He Himself might come to have first place in everything." 1 Corinthians 1:2 "to the church [singular] of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their [Lord] and ours:" Matthew 16:18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church [singular]; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it." Of a truth, Daddy G.O. is one man of God I deeply respect but we should remember to always be like the Berean Christians. Act 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." I related so much of my own brokenness and with much prayer and Godly counsel, I can say that God took something broken and created something new. We have all experienced brokenness and should we examine the break more closely we will certainly find that God made that breaking point the strongest part! I see that you are writing a book to your family, your church family Has there been a break that God may be leading you to examine? A break that He can use you to communicate to the body the how, when, where that we, His Bride, are to go out specifically and shine? There is always a wedding rehearsal prior to the actual wedding. The fact that you stated you were pregnant reminded me of The Virgin Mary My gut tells me something amazing is about to be birthed! I will be in prayer during your pregnancy and ask God for protection, to allow a healthy delivery. You are going to do amazing things through this book.
