Bishop David Benenoch and Mummy
The negative wind of marriage divorce sweeping across Nigeria has caught up with popular Lagos cleric, Bishop David Benenoch. During a church service recently, Bishop David the Founding pastor of Communion Church, Lagos and the presiding Bishop of Communion Church Worldwide, announced the end of his marriage to his wife of 20 years and mother of his three children, Esther Benenoch. Bishop David was said to have told members of his church he’s seeking for divorce from the mother of his children for spiritual reasons and didn't give any more details to his stunned worshipers. On the other hand, it was revealed that Esther is a blogger who has written so many articles on relationships, marriages, and she’s always written against divorce. So, the question is how does one who writes against divorce get so swallowed up in the problem of divorce that she couldn't foresee, let alone avert the encroaching disaster? Why won't people not go to the church. The Bishop said is for spiritual reasons. The bible teaches us that if we marry we should marry for the worse and not for the better. If he has such mentality in mind & remember his marriage vows(for better & for worse) he would have gone to God in prayers and kept his companion for one shall chase 1,000 & two shall chase 10,000 says d bible. This is a senior Bishop to a branch pastor on santity of Marital law It teaches you cannot be ordained a pastor if you are separated unless you reconcile with spouse , because at the holy altar of the Lord you swore to love each other till death do you part, otherwise the pastoral role will not be realised. and as such the man to step down from the pastoral post for a while, then go seek the face of God in prayers regarding his separation, cos they feel he cannot lead a congregation in that statement of mind (i.e going thru marital breakdown). Also to keep the matter quiet from the church, while the senior Bishop refer them for counselling and church prayer warriors join them in prayers to resolve issues as the do not support marriage break up. funny , it was another lady trying to charm the hardworking pastor because his mum & family does not like the strict christian wife ( a deacon in the church). The pastor gave all sorts of excuses to senior Bishop cos he has fallen in love with new charming woman, but the senior Bishop saw past that and told him to chose between his calling and a new wife. The pator now hated the bishop, left the ministry, pair up with the new lady and try to assasinate Bishop , got found out re commited his life to christ and his prayerful wife took him back , this made him more stronger in his calling. He has always been a chaste, gentle and easy-going fellow from his youth days, but as to what is happening i really cannot rush to judge him. I know its scripturally wrong to divorce for whatever reason(s), but all these happenings are pointer to the endtime, CHRIST said it "that if those days are not shortened, even the ELECT, shall all be deceived" Matt 24:24.
