Ghana leggy queen of screen, Yvonne Nelson has charged her colleagues in Ghana to be more vocal. She recently lampooned virtually all the actors and actresses in Ghollywood as boot-lickers who don't know what they want.
Yvonne expressed her disappointment in the way things are done in Ghana movie industry.
Hear her view on the issue,
"like I said on Peace FM recently, everybody talks about discipline but then some producers always try to take advantage of artistes. Most of my people in Ghana are kiss-ass artistes. They can’t voice out because they know producers might not call them for jobs again. They just sit down and take anything that comes their way. They just have to treat us right and they would not have problems with anybody. I have shot two movies and I am not even a major producer. I am an actress trying to do this but I do know that if we treat people right, everybody goes away with a happy face. Don’t take advantage of the people you work with." This renewal expires in November 2010. In July of this year, the house was foreclosed and based on current law, we assumed that we can stay in the house until the end of the lease period. The bank now owns the house and would not accept rent. Instead, they want us to move. They gave us a 3 day notice to vacate this Monday and after talking with the lawyer, it was explained to us that the old lease is no longer valid because our former landlord no longer owns the house. We have been looking for homes to move into but we did not think that we will be asked to leave before the end of our current lease. Is there anyone here who could help us? The bank is now going to file a court order for eviction. Please advice or give us information on a free or cheap lawyer who can help us. We are not low income, but we do not have extra money to spare for expensive attorneys either. THANK YOU.
