Davido poses with dad
It has been reported that Adedeji Adeleke, father of teenage singer, Davido, has built a church behind his Ikeja, Lagos-based Pacific Holdings company.
The father of the controversial 'omo baba olowo' son, as reported, is a staunch member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. This latest development from Deji has raised concerns on some controversies surrounding his music star son, Davido.
Since gaining prominence in the music industry in 2011, Davido, 19, has been swimming from one messy ocean to another. He still has an alleged assault of a cab driver hanging on his head. Before the reported assault issue, the MTN Pulse brand ambassador was embroiled in a messy sex with a groupie on his way to Ghana few months ago.
All these controversies have made some people wondered why has MTN used him as an ambassador for a product targeted
at the youths.
Will his father's church make him turn over a new leaf? His fans and critics await.

concern citizen | 9/26/2012 8:05:05 AMMany pastors in Nigeria encourage stealing.....they know that the people got their money from bad source yet they encourage them to spend for the church. What other way would this man had gotten his money rather than drugs or fraud. He was staying in america before so,does that garanty or make you rich in life.lets stop deceiving ourselve in this country.Whether he likes it or not he can not bribe God.....never.

It is not every wealthy man that gets his/her wealth from drug peddling. Be careful before you jump into conclusion on who you do not know. This man has been in business long before you guys know him. You only got to know him when his star started showing. The problem with Nigerians is that we generalized without fact. There is truth in what you have asserted but you cannot put everybody in the same box. If you do this you will discourage the very hard working Nigerians. If he bribes God, that is between him and his God. God is not mocked. As for Davido, it is up to him. He is above 18. He is getting enmeshed in musician's mentality. He has to soften it. He should realize that he is a PRO of his family. What can the poor father do in this case? He was liberal enough to allow him pursue his dream. Most wealthy Nigerians would have disallowed him to pursue music, especially with the image of the rappers and pop musicians worldwide. His father has not only built church in Lagos, he has supported Seventh Day Adventist Mission worldwide, financially. I pray that God will continue to bless his effort.

This is the problem with the absence gatekeeping in social media. People just write anything. The Church in Oregun is probably as old as David. Now someone is reporting it as if it were some new stuff. This is also what youth unemployment is bringing about. People are jobless, so they get busy churning out trash, and feeding the unwary public.
Please journalism thrives on credibility. When we read things like this, it make the society to look at journalism with suspicion. For those who wish to attend short courses on reporting and writing techniques at very affordable rates, please call 08129772557. Thank you.

someone | 10/3/2012 3:03:08 AMPls, seperate Davido from his father. U need to meet Davido's father. He is a practical christian. He has been a billionaire tee tee from a pure business means. U need to hear him speak. His humility will move u, he never seeks recognision, hence he has not ventured into politics. But for Davido, he is but a youth, been pushed around by youthful exubberance. The father, as a true christian, will only guide him, but decisions are his to make. So, it would be better to seperate him from his father. This man worships unnoticed in small congregations of his church, leaving big cathedrals of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.. So ask before u say

Majority of the posts I've been able to read here has resentful undertone. D boy and his dad are two worlds apart. The father is a complete gentleman while the son has a bloated ego, though I like him. Sooner than later, maturity will beckon on him. Most of u that are castigating him, have never tasted stardom nor wealth. If any of u have really done that, I dnt see the reason why you should be unduly cynical.
toh quality | 10/22/2012 9:01:15 AMAlways get your facts right before you judge. That church is not a "mega" church. Its a church the size of a bungalow, and its been in existence for over 10years. The man you're talking about is a humanitarian to the core who doesn't like to boast of his achievements.Only God knows how FAKE sites like these get FAKE news from FAKE sources.

Jhon | 10/23/2012 5:33:49 PMI will be voting Green, sienekg the repudiation of the lies in the msm today trying to wedge the left on asylum seekers and ecological concerns as oppositional. The saddest, crudest reduction in my mind is the one condescendingly dismissing ecological concerns as grumbling about smaller back yards .I wonder what the high level scientists working in universities and institutions like the CSIRO would have made such an essentially vandalistic attempt at a rational approach to sustainability that also incidentally, obviously, does involve skilful, non ideological economic assesments and modelling/ now come on, let's hear a sneer at that proposition, too
