Despite the accolades and kudus accorded Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola for the impact he's making in Lagos, all that has been thrashed due to the flood that has damaged so many people's properties and rendered some homeless.

Lagos, no doubt, has changed all thanks to tax payers whose money has been used to beautify the state. But, the governor and his team are not in any way helping to control the flood situation in Lagos and this has become a great deal to all Lagos residents

Though, the last flood incident before yesterday, Governor Fashola was said to have promised to make provision for a free-flow drainage system that will put every resident in Lagos rest of mind when it rains but yesterday's over 12 hours rain has proved that the governor and his team are not capable enough to manage the affair of the State efficiently.

That 'Eko o ni Ba je' is now a song the entire Lagosians should give a second thought for before joining in singing.

Some parts of UK were flooded few weeks back so,even in the U.S, they use canoe when they have hurricane and rain falls like their is no tomorrow. The drains , gutters and canals are so blocked and thats why the flooding is so bad. Fashola needs to channel resources into clearing the canals and sorting out the drains . Lagos is getting really realy bad with flooding . I pray we don't get Tsunami, that's why I can't live in Lekki , VI or VGC and with the 3rd Mainland bridge under repair , just pray they fix it properly, cos i read of a bridge that collapsed in the states few yrs ago,

hmmm..... this is serious!

The hi5 bridge in Minnesota
Amaka | 6/29/2012 6:55:36 AM |
imagine driving pass oshodi bridge on a very good afternoon and this type of incident happens or traffic builds up heavily on 3rd mainland and the poor bridge gives way!!! u no as people go die reach?? this is a call for nigerian politicians to brace up and take care of our structurally deficient bridges which are already begging arsdiously for repairs!!
U don't even wanna compare the infrastructural development OF usa to the crappy bridges that u got in Lagos. No body in their right mind would wish such a thing happens in Nigeria.
There were a lot of complaints regarding the bridge for Ogudu side when coming for the 3rd Mainland Bridge that it'll soon collapse, because there is already a gap on the bridge. Thank God Lagos State Government is now looking into it.
Tackling of the flooding probs
ITK | 6/29/2012 7:02:37 AM
The problem needs to be tackled and I believe last year, the Fg gave about $1 Billion to fight that problem in Lagos. If Lagos needs more from the FG, I am sure it is not a silly approach to go for more.but Fashola cant do everything, and from the looks of it lagos will have this flood problem for a while. Basically, the citizens of Lagos need to stop building houses in flood prone areas and stop illegally blocking drainages. At least stop until lagos State get the situation under control. Lagos is drowning

haha. It's no surprise that Lagos is ranekd as one the most expensive cities in the world. I mean just to buy basic amenities like food or clothes or like you mentioned to rent an apartment or visit the cinema..lol, one has to pay through his or her nose...na wa o...I always worry about people who live in lagos but do not have adequate finances....won't they suffer? God dey...But i'm definitely loving the beautification/conservation/transportation projects that are occuring..thanks to Governor Fash...True talk...Eko Ni Baje....Ami..It's amazing that Lagos is more expensive than DC..that's so c***y....
