The terror let loose in Igninedion University, Okada, Benin City this morning has taken a new turn as a yet-to-be-identified man was headed by some men believed to be ex-militants.
In an early morning chaos in the university today, some former militants stormed the school causing a free for all fight between rival gangs.
This has led to pandemonium in the school. It was reported that some policemen stationed at the school could not take control of the situations which has degenerated to a worse scenario.

I am pretty surprised that a private university like IUO will degenerate to the level of allowing cultism to thrive. What then is the difference between this university and other public universities?. Given the high fees being charged by private universities like IUO, one expects some level of moral renaissance amongst the students. Some people will argue that the students are reflections of the wider Nigerian society. Yes, but when they come into IUO, it is expected that some guidelines will be put in place to prevent would-be cultist to dominate and overrun the school. The management of IUO, has to take proactive measures to redeem the battered image of the university. The disturbing incidences emanating from the school is of concern to all those who really want the best for the institution. If it is not a student stabbing another with a knife; it is a case of kidnapping or the worst of the cancerwooms, battle of supremacy between ex-militants and already entrenched cult groups in IOU. Haba! . Chief Igbinedion needs to read this piece, if for nothing else, to draw his attention to the fact that his dear IUO is fast derailing. The Chief needs to step in and redeem the image of the institution before he will experience serious tsunami of withdrawal of students from the institution.
